Aged between 16 and 35 (as of September 1, 2024), with the special allowance for the age limit of 45 for applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers and that of 25 for undergraduate student applicants.
Besides, applicants shall meet one of the qualifications below:
(I) Applicants applying for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Language scholarship shall hold a senior high school diploma and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 4) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
(II) Applicants applying for One-Academic Year Study in “Chinese Language and Culture” scholarship shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
III. Application Procedure
Applicants have to log on to the Scholarship program system of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (www.chinese.cn), sign up for an individual applicant account, fill in the application form and upload application materials online.
For Programmes commencing in September, the application deadline is May 15, and the review deadline for recommending institutions and host institutions is May 25.
After submitting the application, applicants shall track the application progress, comments, and results (published about 3 months before enrollment).
Scholarship holders shall confirm with the host institutions to go through the procedures of studying in China, and print out the scholarship certificate online; register at host institutions on the designated date as per the letter of admission.
