In the afternoon of Sept. 25^th, Nanjing Tech University (NanjingTech) held the opening ceremony for the international students of 2019. Prof. QIAO Xu (President), Prof. NIU Shengjie (Vice President), Prof. WU Shenghong (Vice President),Officer WANG Yan and WU Yue (Substation in Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau), representatives from relevant departments and teachers and the international students of 2019 attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Prof. NIU Shengjie.

At the beginning, Prof. WU Shenghong read out the lists of 2019 international students who have won off-campus high-level freshmen scholarship and the present guests presented the awards to the winners.

VLADYSLAV KONDRATENKO from International Trade 1901, on behalf of the freshmen, gave a speech and said he is very lucky to have the opportunity to study in NanjingTech and hopes all the freshmen will cherish time, work hard, experience Chinese culture and abide by regulations and rules here.

Nikita Ruban from Computer 1701, on behalf of undergraduate students, gave a speech and encouraged the freshmen to learn Chinese and professional knowledge and skills so that they will realize the dreams.

Miss. QIAN Ying, on behalf of teachers, gave an address to the freshmen and hopes that all the students will study diligently, absorb knowledge, make friends and spread the seed of friendship.

Prof. QIAO Xu welcomed all the freshmen in the beginning of his address to them. He introduced the history and profound academic atmosphere of NanjingTech. He suggests all the international students to be the one to promote cultural communication and become the cultural ambassadors leading the common development of the world; to value time and do something meaningful; to study hard and master professional skills. He used an ancient Chinese painting style called "gongbi painting" as metaphor to encourage students get down to books and courses, be patient and practical when studying and leave behind the most valuable moments and chapters in the campus of NanjingTech.

After the ceremony, Officer WANG Yan and WU Yue delivered a lecture to the freshmen on the laws and regulations on the entry and exit of China as well as safety knowledge.
