On July 27, the two-week “Chinese Culture Experience Summer Camp” Activity for International Students came to a successful end. A total of 22 junior and senior middle school students from Thailand and Bangladesh have successfully completed their study in Nanjing Tech University.
During the activity, our university carefully organized Chinese language courses and cultural practices, giving international students a chance to experience the charm of Chinese culture. Through cultural courses such as Chinese language and Chinese history, international students have gained more knowledge about Chinese culture. Through cultural experience programs such as Han-Chinese clothing, calligraphy, paper-cut, tea art, Wushu, and Tai chi, they have experienced the richness and profoundness of Chinese culture. Through cultural practices such as visiting the Confucius Temple, Nanjing Museum, and Nanjing Science and Technology Museum, they have learned about the history and culture of Nanjing. This “Chinese Culture Experience Summer Camp” activity has deepened their understanding of Chinese culture. Rahman Shahed, an international student from Bangladesh, said happily when visiting our university’s Maker Space: “My visit to the Maker Space today has opened a gate for me, I want to come to China to realize my innovation dream in the future”. Zhou Wiwat, an international student from Thailand, said emotionally during the Han Chinese Clothing exhibition and experience activity: “It is a great honor for me, as a Chinese descendant, to return to the land where my ancestors lived and to try on traditional clothing. I hope that China and Thailand will increase mutual communication and exchanges in the future, and that more teenagers of Chinese descendants from Thailand willcome to study in China.”
