1. Project Background

To showcase achievements and successful practices in the field of "Carbon Neutrality" and establish an international collaboration platform, Nanjing Tech University (NanjingTech) is organizing a 11-day International Summer Program titled "Low-Carbon Processes and Intelligent Engineering: Creating the Green Future of Chemical Engineering", from June 29^th to July 9^th, 2025. Guided by the principles of "Chemical Engineering + Intelligence + Safety + Sustainability," this program provides practical avenues for promoting sustainable development. It seeks to develop professionals with a global outlook and creative thinking, enabling them to collaboratively shape a sustainable future in green chemical engineering.

2. University Overview

Established over a century ago, NanjingTech boasts a distinguished history and enjoys a prestigious reputation as one of the first 14 universities selected into China's Higher Education Innovation Capability Improvement Plan (the "2011 Plan"). It is also a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province, renowned for its outstanding engineering education, playing a pivotal role in the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program and Professional Degree Postgraduate Education Comprehensive Reform Pilot Project.

NanjingTech has a strong research foundation and top-tier educational resources recognized both domestically and internationally. The university boasts a high-caliber faculty that includes academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. With 11 schools and 28 colleges, it serves over 40,000 students across various disciplines. NanjingTech is ranked 56^th in the Chinese mainland universities in ESI. Chemistry and Materials Sciences are among the top 1‰ in the world; Engineering, Biology & Biochemistry, Environment/Ecology，Physics and Agricultural Sciences are among the top 1% in the world. In terms of ranking, NanjingTech ranked 47^th in Chinese mainland Universities in Nature Index 2024, 38^th nationally in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 and 54^rd in Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities 2024.

College of Chemical Engineering

The Chemical Engineering at NanjingTech is one of the earliest chemical engineering programs in China which consistently maintaining the highest ranking in chemical engineering education and research. Developed by three generations of leadership, Academicians Jun Shi, Pingkai Ouyang, and Nanping Xu, our college now has over 200 faculty members, a host of one State-key Laboratory, one National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, two National Engineering Research Centers and one National Synergistic Innovation Center. Our college has won two Second Prizes in the National Science and Technology Progress Awards in recent five years, and was awarded the "Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program" by the Ministry of Education. More than 20,000 students have graduated from this program and devoted their professional training to different careers such as design, operation, research, and management.

1. Discipline Focus & Teaching Schedule

Focusing on the first-level discipline of Chemical Engineering and Technology, the Summer Program will feature specialized courses centered around themes like Fundamentals of Materials Chemical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization of Chemical Processes, Green Chemical Engineering, AI-Enabled Low-Carbon Process Reengineering, Membrane Science and Technology. During this period, participants will attend various seminars and lectures, experience Chinese cultures, and gain practical insights into Chinese cutting-edge advances in low-carbon innovations and sustainable development through site visits.

2. Admission Targets

This program is open to foreign undergraduates and graduates who are already studying in China and international students who are abroad. A maximum of total 40 students will be admitted. Prospective participants must submit their application form by June 22^th, 2025, via email to the designated address (refer to following contact information).

Program Duration: June 29^th to July 9^th, 2025

4. Notes for Application

Expense: Successful candidates will enjoy tuition waivers, free accommodation (with off-campus participants generally housed in student dormitories at NanjingTech, waiving the on-campus housing fee), course materials, and access to study resources. They will also participate in all academic activities and cultural excursions free of charge. The university will provide transportation services for arranged visits.

*Note: International travel expenses, visa fees, and insurance costs are the responsibility of the participant. However, the university will provide partial financial support according to the following scheme:
