I. Case Review

A student downloaded a seemingly professional financial app from an unofficial channel and invested 5000 RMB after registering. When he tried to withdraw the funds, the system prompted 'Account abnormal needs verification'. The customer service requested him to continue transferring funds for reasons such as "paying the deposit" and "activating the account". When he realized he might have been scammed, he had already lost all his funds and the app could no longer be opened.

II. Common characteristics of this type of fraud

1. Highly tempting promotion: "high returns", "zero risk", "novice exclusive high returns".

2. Realistic interface design: imitating the logo, name, and interface of legitimate financial institutions.

3. Non official download channels: guide downloads through SMS links, social media advertisements, QR codes, etc.

4. Abnormal permission requirements: Require the activation of unnecessary mobile phone permissions, such as access to contacts and SMS.

5. Urgent urging tone: "Limited time discount", "Limited quota", "Last chance".

III. Preventive Tips

1. Download only through the official app store and be wary of any download prompts in third-party links, email attachments, or social media advertisements.

2. The "Three Never's" when it comes to monetary transactions:

❗Never trust easily: remain vigilant about promises of high returns and zero risk.

❗Never be impatient: Those who do not give time for thinking and create a sense of urgency are often scams.

❗Never transfer funds privately: Legitimate platforms will not require transfers to personal accounts or transactions through other payment platforms.

3. If you have already downloaded a suspicious app:

Immediately stop any operation, uninstall the app, and thoroughly clean the phone.

If there has been a financial loss, immediately contact your bank to try freezing the transaction,

Keep all evidence (screenshots, chat records, transfer records), call 110 to report to the police and contact the counselor for assistance.
