In order to effectively protect the travel safety and property rights of international students studying in China, and to strengthen the campus anti fraud defense line, the Overseas Education College hereby launches this issue of anti fraud classroom guide, focusing on high-frequency traffic and travel traps, explaining fraud methods in detail, clarifying prevention points, and helping everyone travel safely and stay away from scams.

I. Fraudulent means

In densely populated areas such as stations, airports, and scenic spots, scammers often disguise themselves as passengers and actively approach to solicit customers. These vehicles are mostly "black cars" without formal operating qualifications. Firstly, they do not use meters for pricing during the passenger transportation process and charge high fares upon arrival at the destination; Secondly, intentionally inducing forced consumption, scammers fabricate reasons such as scenic area closures, road repairs, etc. on the way, and take passengers to other consumption places for forced shopping.

II. Preventive Tips

One is to choose a legitimate travel channel, prioritize calling a ride through legitimate ride hailing platforms such as Didi Chuxing and Gaode Taxi, or go to the official taxi stop at the station to take a ride, and refuse unqualified vehicles that actively solicit passengers on the roadside.

The second is to verify the itinerary information in advance, confirm the driver's standard schedule before boarding, and plan the route and estimate the fare in advance through mobile map software.

The third is to refuse recommendations from strangers, and not to easily believe the driver's words such as "low-priced accommodation", "exclusive attractions", "discounted shopping", etc., to avoid falling into consumption traps.

Fourthly, if encountering fraud, coercion or other situations during travel, it is necessary to retain relevant evidence as soon as possible, report to the police for help in a timely manner, and contact teachers to protect one's own safety and legitimate rights and interests.
